Norwell, Massachusetts – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Yvonne (Saghie) Choubah, 79, on Monday, October 28, 2024.
She was the beloved wife of the late Amin Choubah.
Born in Mali, Africa, she was a daughter of the late Wadih and Elizabeth (Nesralla) Saghie.
Yvonne had resided in Amchit, Lebanon before settling in Norwell, Massachusetts many years ago.
Yvonne was the rock of her family, an unwavering source of love, positivity, and strength.
She lived her life with a grace and compassion that touched everyone around her, always choosing to see the best in others and bringing out the best in each person who crossed her path.
Yvonne’s love for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was boundless and truly knew no limits.
She dedicated her life to ensuring their happiness, always offering her unconditional love and support.
Her smile was a constant and a comfort, radiating the deep kindness that defined her.
Even in the face of life’s challenges, Yvonne’s resilience shone through.
Her determination to live fully, to keep moving forward no matter what, inspired everyone who knew her.
When she faced a cancer diagnosis, she met it with quiet strength and great faith in God, never questioning “why me” but instead embracing each day with the same resolve and gratitude she carried throughout her life.
She had a gift for making people feel welcome and loved.
Her kitchen was a place of comfort and joy- a haven where she shared her incredible gift for cooking.
She loved nothing more than gathering people together, nourishing them not just with food but with love and laughter.
Yvonne’s legacy will live on through her family, her friends, and all the lives she touched.
She was truly one of a kind, and her spirit will be cherished always.
She is survived by her six children, Halim A.
Choubah and his wife, Rana, Nicolas Choubah and his wife, Bridget, Layla Hadchiti and her husband, Salem, Samar Geagea and her husband, Jean Pierre, Mayssa Choubah, George Choubah and his wife, Wida; two sisters, Salma Andraous and Montaha Salloum; thirteen grandchildren (Yvonne, Christopher, Marc, Nicolas, Rebecca, Rachel, Amanda, Andrew, Sacha, Leah, Alex, Anthony and Peter) and eight great-grandchildren (Elijah, Lilliana, Anthony, Isaac, Mila, Jolie, Dexter and Luke) Visitation will be held at St.
Mary Antiochian Orthodox Church, 249 High St., Pawtucket, on Friday, November 1st from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. followed by the Funeral Service at 11 a.m.
Interment will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Armistice Blvd., Pawtucket.
