Yvette F. Baker

March 25, 1946 — July 14, 2021

Pawtucket – Yvette F. (Desrochers) Baker, 75, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Wednesday, July 14, 2021.

She was the beloved wife of Irving “Chet” E.

Baker, Jr. for fifty-five loving years.

Born in Providence, Yvette lived nearly all her life in Pawtucket, and was a daughter of the late Gregoire I.

J. and Violette (Leduc) Desrochers.

Yvette attended the former St.

Jean the Baptist Academy in Pawtucket and was a member of the Class of 1964.

Later in life, she attended Johnson & Wales University having graduated in 1988 earning her associate degree.

Yvette worked at Fram Manufacturing and later went on to a career as a medical secretary at the former Pawtucket Memorial Hospital and more recently Miriam Hospital in Providence, until her retirement in 2011.

In her free time, Yvette enjoyed spending time with her family and loved babies.

She also enjoyed bowling and belonged to a bowling league for many years.

Besides her loving husband, Yvette leaves two children, Irving “Chet” Baker, III and his wife, Leanne, and Robin (Baker) Mercier and her husband, William, Sr.; four grandchildren, Rebecca Leach, William Mercier, Jr., Corey Baker and Kristen (Mercier) Lakoma and her husband, Lukasz; three great-grandchildren, Mia Baker, Lola Wyman and Benjamin Lakoma; three siblings, Donald Desrochers and his wife, Debra, Denise (Desrochers) Setser and Gregoire Desrochers and his wife, Jackie; many nieces and nephews, and her four-legged friend, “Abby Rose”.

She was the sister of the late Anne Marie (Desrochers) Bento and the sister-in-law of the late Lawrence Bento and Michael Setser.

Yvette’s funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W.

TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St.

Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.

Interment will follow at Mount Saint Mary Cemetery.

VISITATION will be Monday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to The Tomorrow Fund, RI Hospital Campus, 593 Eddy St., Providence, RI 02903 would be appreciated.
