William J. Prestly, Jr.

Pawtucket – William J. Prestly, Jr., 92, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 6, 2013. He was the beloved husband of the late Rita A. (Pettit) Prestly. Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late William J., Sr. and Margaret (Cormier) Prestly. He was a US Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. William worked as a dispatcher for Gilbane Oil Co. for over 20 years until his retirement and was a member of the MORA Club of Pawtucket, LeFoyer and the Gatchell VFW Post # 306. He leaves three daughters, Barbara Collins and April Fontaine both of Pawtucket and Susan SanSouci of North Providence; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Alfred and Francis Prestly and Theresa Cole. His funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Church, 103 Pine St., Pawtucket.
