William "Bill" H. Lomax, Sr.

Pawtucket – William “Bill” H. Lomax, Sr., 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 21, 2012. He was the beloved husband of the late Isabella F. (Mudie) Lomax. A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, he was a son of the late William H. and Elizabeth C. (Cahill) Lomax. Bill worked at Gibby’s Service Station, Pawtucket, for many years and was also a mason and chimney sweep for George W. Smith & Son, Inc. for over 53 years. He enjoyed following horse racing and baseball, and especially enjoyed his breakfasts at various local diners. Bill leaves five children; William H. Lomax, Jr. and his wife, Donna of Cumberland, Linda M. and Carole A. Lomax both of Pawtucket, Joanne M. Arruda and her husband, Gary of Fall River and Robert M. Lomax and his wife, Paula of Somerset; seven grandchildren; a great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Thomas F. Gibbons and Raymond Lomax. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Mary...
