Providence – William (Bill) Henry Conlon IV, 77, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at home in the company of his loving wife, Renee A. (Filiault) Conlon. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late William H. Conlon III and Matilda (Teixeira) Conlon.
Bill was a self-employed contractor who was skilled in many areas of construction. He had a passion for historical restoration. His exceptional woodwork and custom tile designs can be found within many homes on the East Side of Providence. He never said no to an adventure, and he possessed an unconventional knack for solving problems.
In his retirement he enjoyed spending time in nature, watching the birds and nurturing his garden. He was a natural green thumb.
Bill was a free-spirited soul who laughed his way through life doing it his way. His journey may not always have followed the traditional road, but it was undeniably his road, and he traveled it with courage, conviction, and a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. He touched many lives along the way and leaves behind countless memories, stories, laughter, and lessons about living freely.
Alongside his wife, he leaves behind his beloved daughters; Jennifer Conlon Wagner and Kelsie Conlon, grandchildren; Alexia Wagner, Brett Wagner, Joseph Watrous, and Lillian Desper, sisters; Dorothy Feragne (John Sr.) and Donna Fredette (Robert) and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his sons, Curtis Conlon and William H. Conlon V.
