Wayne Leo Lafond

Wayne L. Lafond, 62, of East Providence, formerly of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on 06/05/2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. A devoted father, loving brother, proud grandfather, talented musician, and cook, Wayne’s presence was a steady light in the lives of all who knew him. Born in Pawtucket, Wayne was the beloved son of the late Roland and Duimga Lafond. A 1981 graduate of Tolman High School, he went on to work as a dedicated electrician for 40 years, most recently employed with American Surplus Inc. since 2014. Wayne’s love for music was lifelong—he was a gifted guitarist and vocalist, in his youth performing in local bands including East Coast Connection and Sweet Revenge. Whether on stage or in the kitchen, where he spent countless Saturdays experimenting and cooking meals for his family, Wayne poured his heart into everything he did.
