Silva, 78, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 19, 2021, with his family by his side.
He was the beloved husband of Adelia V. (Gomes) Silva for fifty-one years.
Born in Vila Cã Pombal, Portugal, he was the son of the late Manuel F. and Maria C. (Gonçalves) da Silva.
Virgolino immigrated from Portugal to the United States in 1986 where he settled in Pawtucket with his family.
Prior to that he lived in Mozambique, Africa for 17 years where he completed his military duty.
Virgolino worked as a machinist at Northeast Cable in Attleboro until retiring.
He was a longtime member of the Portuguese Social Club on School Street in Pawtucket and also a member of the Cranston Rod & Gun Club for many years.
Besides his loving wife, Virgolino leaves two sons, Paul Silva and his wife, Grace, of Attleboro and Gil Silva and his wife, Lori, of Seekonk; a daughter, Silvia Mourao and her husband, Manuel, of Rehoboth; four grandchildren, Haleigh, Cameron, Mia and Madilyn and a sister, Clara Adhong in South Africa.
VISITATION will be held on Tuesday morning from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at WILLIAM W.
TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St.
Anthony Church, 32 Lawn Ave., Pawtucket.
Interment will follow at Mount Saint Mary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to the Alzheimer’s Association, 245 Waterman St., Suite 306, Providence, RI 02906 would be appreciated.
