Attleboro – Virginia M. (Herrell) Smith, 87, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 13, 2013. She was the beloved wife of the late Alton Smith. Born in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Charity (Brown) Herrell. Virginia was a member of the First Baptist Church, Pawtucket, and worked as braider at Rhode Island Textile, Pawtucket, for many years until retiring in 1989. Virginia leaves her grandchildren, Beth E. Haselton and her husband, Mark of Attleboro and William R. Morrison, Jr. and his partner, Maurice Bernier of Fall River and three great-grandchildren, Amanda, Kaitlyn and Eric Haselton. She was the mother of the late Christine (Smith) Morrison. Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. Interment will follow at Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
