Violet H. Madden

Cranston - Violet H. (Fiske) Madden, 98, formerly of West Warwick, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2022. Born in Cranston, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Margaret (Sutherland) Fiske. Violet was a New England Telephone Pioneer in the early days of the telephone system and went onto a thirty-five-year career in telecommunications. She retired from Verizon in 1985. She enjoyed traveling and was a longtime volunteer at the Rhode Island Veteran’s Home in Bristol. Violet leaves a daughter, Ellen M. Brunelle of Pawtucket and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Patricia M. Rodgers, and the sister of the late Albert W. Fiske, Frank “Bud” Fiske, and Christine C. DeCecco. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend Services on Friday at 11:30 a.m. at CHEETHAM Funeral Home, 1012 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by interment at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery in Johnston.
