North Attleboro – Thomas J.
Shamp, 75, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.
He was the beloved husband of Carmelle V. (Brousseau) Shamp for nearly forty-five years.
Born in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late James, Jr., and Agnes (Kavanagh) Shamp.
Thomas relocated to Rhode Island upon his assignment to the former Our Lady of the Valley Monastery in Cumberland.
Thomas worked for Red Hed Supply & Manufacturing in Lincoln as a purchaser, and prior at J.H.
Lynch & Sons in Cumberland as a truck driver and purchaser.
He was a longtime parishioner of St.
Cecilia Church, Pawtucket, and was actively involved with their Boys Scout Troop 28.
Thomas embraced his family and enjoyed coaching for his sons’ baseball and basketball little league teams.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by three children, Christopher Shamp and his wife, Colleen, of North Attleboro, MA, Geoffrey Shamp and his wife, Jillian, of Woodstock, CT and Mark Shamp and his wife, Tina, of North Attleboro, MA; seven grandchildren, Micah, Benjamin, Connor, Colin, Rearden, Abigail and Casey; a brother, Timothy Shamp of Pine Grove, PA; an aunt, Sr.
Martha of Bernardsville, NJ and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was the brother of the late Eileen Shamp.
His funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. from WILLIAM W.
TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St.
John Paul II Parish, (St.
Cecilia Church), 755 Central Ave., Pawtucket.
Interment will be private.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Saint John's Atonement Friars Seminary at Graymoor, P.O.
Box 300, Garrison, NY 10524-0301 would be appreciated.
