Pawtucket – Thomas W.
McCartin, 44, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 30, 2016.
Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of Carole A. (Thurber) Belch of Warwick and the late Thomas F.
He was the step-son of the late Joseph A.
Tom lived in Pawtucket most of his life before moving to Warwick in 2012.
He attended Tollgate High School and worked as a polisher for Samuel White of Central Falls.
He also worked at Ocean State Sweeping and Gary Johnston Landscaping Company until becoming disabled.
Tom was an avid Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots and Boston Celtics fan.
He enjoyed playing baseball and played for several area teams including, Warwick Continental and East Providence Lanes.
Besides his loving mother, Tom leaves a sister, Karen Thurber of Pawtucket; a brother, Brian McCartin of Providence; a niece, Alyssa Gagnon of Pawtucket; a nephew, Richard Ottaviano of Pawtucket; a step-daughter, Tiffany Lema of Pawtucket; a step-son, Joseph Pacheco of East Providence; three grandchildren and his beloved dog, “Troubles”.
He also leaves many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Tom was the grandson of the late Frank and Alice McCartin and William and Florence Thurber.
Services will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at WILLIAM W.
TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.
Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery.
VISITATION will be Thursday 4 to 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to the Pawtucket Animal Shelter, C/O Pawtucket Police Dept., 137 Roosevelt Ave., Pawtucket, RI 02860 will be appreciated.
