Thomas "Tom" E. Byer

Pawtucket – Thomas “Tom” E. Byer, 72, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 3, 2024. Born in Providence, he was the beloved son of the late Edgar J. and Alice (Weidemann) Byer. Tom graduated in 1970 from Tolman High School, Pawtucket, and was a lifelong resident of the city. He was a faithful and longtime parishioner of the former Church of St. Leo the Great, Pawtucket. Tom worked as a printer at the former Narragansett Coated Paper Corporation, Pawtucket, for many years. He enjoyed studying history, trains and was an avid reader. Tom was a generous and giving man, who never hesitated to help his fellow neighbors and friends. He is survived by his beloved sister, Mary B. Amaral and her husband, Roy R., of Charlestown; a nephew, Roy E. Amaral and his wife, Angelia, also of Charlestown; a niece, Becky Long and her husband, Christopher, of Manchester, CT; three grandnieces, Megan Amaral and Nora and Enid Long, and a grandnephew, Roy P.
