Pawtucket – Thomas “Tom” E.
Byer, 72, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 3, 2024.
Born in Providence, he was the beloved son of the late Edgar J. and Alice (Weidemann) Byer.
Tom graduated in 1970 from Tolman High School, Pawtucket, and was a lifelong resident of the city.
He was a faithful and longtime parishioner of the former Church of St.
Leo the Great, Pawtucket.
Tom worked as a printer at the former Narragansett Coated Paper Corporation, Pawtucket, for many years.
He enjoyed studying history, trains and was an avid reader.
Tom was a generous and giving man, who never hesitated to help his fellow neighbors and friends.
He is survived by his beloved sister, Mary B.
Amaral and her husband, Roy R., of Charlestown; a nephew, Roy E.
Amaral and his wife, Angelia, also of Charlestown; a niece, Becky Long and her husband, Christopher, of Manchester, CT; three grandnieces, Megan Amaral and Nora and Enid Long, and a grandnephew, Roy P.
Tom’s late Golden Retriever, Nessie, will be laid to rest with him.
His funeral will be held on Thursday, beginning with visitation at 10:30 a.m. and concluding with Services at 11:30 a.m. in WILLIAM W.
TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.
Interment with his late parents will follow at Mount St.
Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staton Island, NY 10306 would be appreciated.
