Thomas F. Butler

East Providence - Thomas F. Butler, 80, of Rumford, passed away on Monday, November 10, 2014. He was the beloved husband of the late S. Alice (Newsham) Butler. Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Thomas F. and Marjorie (Mansur) Butler. Tom resided in Pawtucket until moving to Rumford in 1977. He was employed by Star Market for forty-four years before retiring in 1995. Tom leaves a son, Thomas Butler, III and his wife, Mary of Valrico, FL; three daughters, Brenda Maxwell and her husband, Douglas of Chula Vista, CA, Lisa Shearer and her husband, David of Gordonville, PA and Sharon Magill and her husband, James of West Kingston; his companion, Constance O’Hara with whom he made his home; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Joan Messier. His funeral will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. from the CHEETHAM Funeral Home, 1012 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.
