Thomas Edward Allen

Pawtucket – Thomas Edward Allen, 68, passed away at home on Monday, February 2, 2015. He was the beloved husband of Nancy S. (Dufour) Allen for 47 years. Born in Attleboro, a son of the late Clarence “Bud” and Eva (Cardin) Allen, he resided in Cumberland before moving to Pawtucket in 1972. Thomas was a Vietnam Era U.S. Navy veteran, having served for thirty years. He enlisted in the Navy on August 20, 1963 and completed active duty service on February 13, 1967, during which time he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He then enlisted in the U.S. Navy Reserves on February 13, 1967 and retired with the rank of MM1 on July 1, 1993. He served aboard the USS Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr. (DD-850); USS Miller (FF-1091) and the USS Purdy (DD-734). While aboard the USS Miller he was awarded the Sailor of the Quarter on April 13, 1985.
