Pawtucket – Thomas Edward Allen, 68, passed away at home on Monday, February 2, 2015.
He was the beloved husband of Nancy S. (Dufour) Allen for 47 years.
Born in Attleboro, a son of the late Clarence “Bud” and Eva (Cardin) Allen, he resided in Cumberland before moving to Pawtucket in 1972.
Thomas was a Vietnam Era U.S.
Navy veteran, having served for thirty years.
He enlisted in the Navy on August 20, 1963 and completed active duty service on February 13, 1967, during which time he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.
He then enlisted in the U.S.
Navy Reserves on February 13, 1967 and retired with the rank of MM1 on July 1, 1993.
He served aboard the USS Joseph P.
Kennedy, Jr. (DD-850); USS Miller (FF-1091) and the USS Purdy (DD-734).
While aboard the USS Miller he was awarded the Sailor of the Quarter on April 13, 1985.
Thomas was employed by Teknor-Apex for 37 years before retiring in 2005.
He enjoyed fishing, boating and skiing.
Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Lisa-Lin Allen-Chase and her husband, Scott R.
Chase of Sturbridge, MA; a son, Seth Dufour Allen of Pawtucket; two grandchildren, Victoria Allen Masse and Devin Allen; a brother, Robert Allen of Cumberland; a sister, Carol Gregory of Seattle, Washington; five nephews and four nieces.
His funeral with Military Honors will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W.
TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the Church of St.
Leo the Great, 697 Central Ave., Pawtucket.
Interment will follow at St.
Joseph Cemetery, Cumberland.
VISITATION will be Friday 4 to 7 p.m.
