Pawtucket – Therese M. (Blacha) Kreischer, 91, passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021.
Born in Poland, she was the wife of the late Col. (Ret.) Edmund W.
She was a refugee who fled the Nazi occupation of Poland.
Therese was placed with family in Germany, and it was there she met Edmund.
They married and returned to the United States where she stepped into the role of a military wife.
Therese had a passion for music.
She was an active member of St.
Matthew Trinity Lutheran Church, Pawtucket, where she sang in the church choir.
She enjoyed being a part of the German American Cultural Society and sang with the Schubert-Lorelei Sängerchor.
She also had a love for dance and was instrumental in founding the Alpenblumen Bavarian Folk Dance Group.
Often referred to as “Crazy Resi” or “Bubbles” Therese was exuberant in nature, the life of the party.
She enjoyed gardening and was a fabulous cook of German cuisine.
Friends and family meant everything to her.
She had a deep affection for children especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by three children, Kenneth Kreischer (Debbie) of Illinois, Heidi Bartness (Raymond) of Washington State and Kathy Trafford (Timothy) of Barrington, RI; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
VISITATION will be held on Wednesday, September 8th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with Words of Remembrance beginning at 6:00 p.m. in WILLIAM W.
TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.
Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, September 9th at 10:00 a.m. in Mount Hope Cemetery, North Attleboro.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation in her memory to the German American Cultural Society, 78 Carter Ave., Pawtucket, RI 02861 would be appreciated.
