Theodore F. Lotring

East Providence – Theodore “Ted” F. Lotring, 68, of Rumford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 27, 2019. Born in Middletown, Connecticut, he was a son of the late Erwin F. and Sally (Oat) Lotring. Ted was a graduate of Brown University, Class of 1980, having achieved his Bachelor of Arts Degree, he then continued his studies at Yale University where he earned a master’s degree in both Liberal Arts in 1983 and Philosophy in 1987. After graduating from Yale, Ted worked as a research sociologist at George Washington University Hospital. He was also an avid follower of both local and national politics and enjoyed hiking and reading. Ted’s two all-time favorite books were The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. Ted leaves five siblings, Eileen E. Ullmann and her husband, Lou, of Rumford, Erwin “Fred” Lotring, Mark W. Lotring of Chatfield, Pennsylvania, David L. Lotring of Central Falls and Dawn E.
