Warwick - Theodore J.
Kacharo, 81, a retired Pawtucket Police Detective, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 9th, 2025.
He was the beloved husband of Stella (Steka) Kacharo for sixty beautiful years.
The son of the late Denno and Adrienne (Tsotakos) Kacharo, he was a longtime resident of Pawtucket before moving to Warwick over twenty-four years ago.
Ted was a proud graduate of Salve Regina University, where he laid the foundation for a distinguished career in law enforcement.
As a dedicated member of the Pawtucket Police Department, Ted served for 20 years, earning the rank of Detective.
After retiring from the force, he continued his commitment to public service by working in security at Rhode Island College for another two decades.
He was a United States Air Force veteran serving during the Vietnam Era.
He was also an active member of the Pawtucket Police Association and Jenks Lodge No. 24 A.F & A.M., where he formed lifelong friendships and contributed to his community.
Ted is survived by his loving wife, Stella Kacharo, and their cherished daughters, Maria Martin and her husband, Kevin, Androniki Alexander, and Bessie Kacharo.
He was a proud grandfather to Ethan Martin and Ian Donohue, who brought immense joy to his life.
Ted is also survived by his sister, Marion Pollock, who shared many cherished memories with him.
He was the brother of the late James Kacharo and Spiro Kacharo.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Friday, March 14th, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Annunciation, 175 Oaklawn Ave., Cranston.
Interment with Military Honors will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Pawtucket.
Visitation and flowers are respectfully omitted.
