Lavoie, 68, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family and her lifelong friend Joan on Saturday, May 20, 2023.
Teri was born on November 7, 1954, in Middletown, Connecticut.
She was raised in Pawtucket, RI and later started her family in Rehoboth, MA.
In 2012 she embarked on a new adventure, and moved to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
Years later she returned to Rhode Island to embrace life closer to family.
She was the daughter of the late Paul R. and Evelyn M. (Haskell) Lavoie.
Teri leaves two children, Michael E.
Lantagne of Riverside, and Kristen S.
Harding, her husband, Jay, and her granddaughter, Riley of Pawtucket; her brother, Thomas P.
Lavoie, his wife, Deana, and her nephews, Kyle, Dylan, and Ryan of Johnston; a niece, Angela Lavoie and her son, Benjamin; her beloved canine companion, “Fritz”, and so many close relatives and friends near and far.
Teri was the sister of the late Paul and Tina Lavoie.
Teri graduated from Pawtucket West High School and went on to a career as a Nationally Certified Medical Assistant having worked in the cardiology departments of Sturdy Memorial Hospital, the former Memorial Hospital of RI in Pawtucket, Miriam Hospital, and the Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho.
After retiring from the medical field, Teri enjoyed working part-time at Buono’s Bakery in Providence, RI, and truly loved working there.
Teri was a remarkably strong and independent woman.
She so enjoyed going to concerts with her brother and buddy, Tom.
In addition, she spent a great deal of time with family watching sports, being by the pool and gardening.
She loved going to plays with her dear sister-in-law, Debbie.
Teri enjoyed so many pastimes including traveling with her family and friends and cheering on her favorite sports teams including the Red Sox, Patriots and Seattle Seahawks.
She loved to read, do puzzles and knit.
She loved spending time outdoors swimming, hiking, and snowshoeing.
She looked forward to connecting with her brother every day about Wordle, Jeopardy and life.
Above all, Teri loved spending time with her family and close friends, especially her beloved granddaughter, Riley.
Her “Teri Spirit”, sense of humor and “impish” ways will be lovingly remembered by all whose lives she deeply touched over the past sixty-eight years.
Relatives and friends are welcome to attend VISITATION on Saturday, May 27th from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. followed by Services at 12 p.m. at WILLIAM W.
