Pawtucket – Tarlika Michelle (Dass) Gregory, M.D., 89, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Miriam Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late LeRoy L. Gregory, Jr. Born in Baroda, Gujarat, India, she was the daughter of the late Solomon and Grace (Christian) Dass.

Dr. Gregory immigrated to the United States by boat in 1959, arriving in New York with determination and hope for the future. A woman of deep faith, she trusted God throughout her life and drew strength from her beliefs during both joyful and challenging times.

She dedicated her life to helping others through her work in mental health, social services, and medicine. A lifelong learner, she continuously challenged herself to grow both personally and professionally. Her commitment to serving others touched countless lives throughout her career.

After losing her hand in an accident, she demonstrated extraordinary resilience by relearning how to write, drive, and navigate daily life. She faced adversity with courage and refused to let obstacles define her.

She was known for her intelligence, strong work ethic, and unwavering determination. She had a gift for telling people exactly what they needed to hear. While her honesty could sometimes sting, it always came from a place of love and a sincere desire to see others reach their full potential.

She will be remembered for her faith, strength, perseverance, and dedication to helping others. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched and the family and friends who loved her.

She leaves behind her beloved siblings, Pratima Dass of Louisville, KY, Ankur R. Dass of Orangeville, CA, and Chandrasen “Eugene” Dass of Sacramento, CA, and many cherished nieces and nephews.
