Sylvia Battle

Pawtucket – Sylvia (McGurk) Battle, 76, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, March 17, 2016. She was the beloved wife of Robert L. Battle for 49 years. Born in Scotland, she was a daughter of the late John and Rose (Davidson) McGurk. Sylvia worked at Memorial Hospital of RI for over twenty years. She was an active and longtime parishioner of St. Teresa Church, Pawtucket, where she served as an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist. Sylvia also volunteered at many of the parish events. She enjoyed gardening and was an avid reader. Above all, Sylvia was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother, and enjoyed spending time with all of her family, extended family and dear friends.
