Susan M. Furtado

Pawtucket – Susan M. Furtado, 52, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 23, 2014. A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, she was a beloved daughter of Kenneth and Alice (Alkern) Furtado of Pawtucket. Susan was the proprietor of Calico Junction Country Crafts, where she made and sold hand crafted fabric gifts of all kinds. She was a 1980 graduate of Tolman High School and attended CCRI. Susan was involved with the Girl Scouts of Rhode Island as a child and adult for over fifteen years, and was an avid M & M’s and Walt Disney collector. Besides her parents, she leaves her sister, Betty Ann Dion and her partner, Michael Flye of Cumberland; her aunt, Dorothy Mahanor of Middleboro, Massachusetts and many beloved cousins. Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Cumberland.
