Kelleher, 64, of Rumford, passed away at home on Friday, May 15, 2015, after courageously battling a long illness.

He was the beloved husband of Mary Beth (Flynn) Kelleher for 40 years.

He was born in Providence on May 13, 1951 to the late John F.

Kelleher and Mildred E. (Parker) Kelleher.

He was predeceased by his infant son, Niall Kelleher.He is survived by his devoted daughters: Erin E.

Kelleher and her husband Tarec Alio of Frankfurt, Germany; Caitlin F.

Kelleher of North Providence; and Meghan M.

He was the adoring Opa to his granddaughter, Lara Elizabeth Alio.

He also leaves behind his beloved brother, James E.

Kelleher and his wife Gail.Steve was the consummate family man, treasured brother-in-law, beloved uncle to many cherished nieces and nephews, and true friend and neighbor.

He attended graduate school at the University of Rhode Island, where he also received his B.S. in Geology and Paleontology in 1974, and was a brother of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity.

While at URI, he met his future wife Mary Beth on her very first day of college, and from that moment on they were inseparable.

Steve was the founder and owner of Rumford Paper Products for over 20 years.

Prior to this, he was an expert businessman and consultant in his field, and held a U.S. patent for a recycled paper product of his own design.

He was also a man of many interests and hobbies, including gardening, cooking, science, history (particularly his Irish heritage), and fondly caring for his pets.

He was a lover of science fiction, of all music from 80’s metal to show tunes, and an avid Boston sports fan until the very end.

He shared his passion for athletics with his daughters and the community by coaching Rumford Little League softball for 16 years.

Above all he will be remembered for his joyful nature and hilarious sense of humor.

His funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from the CHEETHAM Funeral Home, 1012 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St.

Margaret Church, 1098 Pawtucket Ave., Rumford.

Interment will follow at Mt.

Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket.

VISITATION Wednesday 4 to 7 p.m.
