Sofia Pereszluha

East Providence – Sofia (Bodnar) Pereszluha, 99, of Rumford, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2017. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Pereszluha. Born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late John and Sofia (Zeremba) Bodnar, she resided in Woonsocket, Lincoln, and Pawtucket before moving to Rumford in 1986. Sofia was a longtime member of the Rumford Towers Residents Association. She enjoyed socializing, exercising, cooking and life. But most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Sofia leaves a daughter, Diane A. Rekos and her husband, John, of The Villages, Florida; a son, Daniel J. Peres and his wife, Nancy Page, of Warwick; a granddaughter, Tiffany Gallo of Nantucket and three great-grandchildren, Maverick, Brooklyn and Hamilton Gallo all of Nantucket. She was the sister of the late Michael, Daniel, Stephen and John Bodnar. Visitation will begin Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. at WILLIAM W.
