Siranoush "Sarah" D. Woods

Attleboro – Sarah D. (Derderian) Woods, 90 formerly of Wareham and Pawtucket, RI, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 2, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward B. Woods. Born in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late Melkon and Jouhar “Julia” (Setian) Derderian. Sarah was a lifelong member of Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church in Providence, where she actively practiced her faith and instilled her proud Armenian heritage in her family. Sarah was a graduate of the University of Rhode Island (Class of 1973), having earned her bachelor’s degree in English. She taught for many years as an elementary school teacher, and also as a bookkeeper for Francis Murphy Insurance Company, until her retirement. While making her home in Wareham, Sarah served as a selectwoman on the Wareham Board of Selectmen from 1986 to 1999. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, dining out, and visits with family and friends, alike. Sarah will be lovingly remembered by all whose lives she has touched...
