Pawtucket, previously of Palm Beach Ave., Narragansett - Shirley L. (Schofield) Russell, just shy of her 90th birthday, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.
She was the beloved wife of the late Bernard A. “Joe” Russell, Jr.
Born on Flag Day, June 14, 1932 in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Sarah “Sally” (Price) Schofield.
Shirley graduated in 1950 from Pawtucket West High School and later from Bryant College.
She worked as an accountant for Little & Company for 30 years before retiring.
Following her retirement, she helped manage Black Forest Farms for many years.
She was the treasurer of the Rhode Island Arabian Horse Association for 18 years.
She loved the sunshine and enjoyed many years of boating with her friends on Block Island.
She shared the love of horses with her father, and it continued throughout her life.
She is survived by her sons, Harold "Wayne" Morris and wife Hae Yong of Narragansett, Kevin L.
Morris and wife Jeanne of Pawtucket.
Her grandchildren, Rachael Arestad (Matthias Rubekeil), Justin Morris (Amanda), Jason Morris, Sarah Morris, Alyssa Willson (Mark), Rebecca Bettencourt (Mike), and her great-grandchildren, Giovanni, Dominic, and Jersey Morris, Devin, Ashton, Ethan Dowty, Cooper Willson, Brendan and Jaiden Bettencourt.
Relatives and friends are welcome to attend visitation on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in WILLIAM W.
