Shirley M. Heatley

Pawtucket – Shirley M. (Washburn) Heatley, 92, passed away Friday, December 25, 2015. She was the beloved wife of the late Frederick H. Heatley and the daughter of the late William R. and Marguerite M. (Fitzpatrick) Washburn. Shirley resided in Johnston before moving to Pawtucket in 1950. She graduated from St. Xavier Academy and attended Johnson and Wales Business School. Shirley was a Medical Secretary for 26 years until retiring in 1990. She was an avid ice skater and enjoyed traveling the world with her late husband. Shirley will be remembered for her devotion to animals. She was the sister of Marguerite A. Washburn of Johnston and the late Richard R. Washburn. She also leaves three nephews. Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Teresa Church. Interment will follow at Moshassuck Cemetery, Central Falls.
