Shirley E. Grenier

Pawtucket – Shirley E. (Vandal) Grenier, 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at West Shore Health Center in Warwick.

She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph F.

Born in Pawtucket, Shirley resided there most of her life and was the daughter of the late Gaston and Eva (Lapointe) Vandal.

Shirley worked for many years at the former Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island as a billing clerk.

She enjoyed caring for her family, sewing beautiful creations and was a very good cook.

Shirley will be lovingly remembered by her family as the best mom ever.

She will be cherished by all whose lives she has touched over the past eighty-nine years.

She is survived by three children, Karen Dugas and her husband, Ron, of Cape Cod, Sandra Brown and her husband, Richard, of Hope, RI, and Robert Szaldak and his wife, Linda, of Pawtucket; three stepchildren, Stephen Grenier and his wife, Cindy, David Grenier and his wife, Claudia, and Joseph “JG” Grenier and his wife, Lisa; two brothers, Robert Vandal and his wife, Sandra, of Seekonk, and Donald Vandal and his wife, Mary, of Attleboro; four grandchildren, Richard Brown, III, Nicholas Brown, Harley Szaldak, and Harmony Szaldak; a great-granddaughter, Xy’Airiah Daijanae Szaldak and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, October 27th, at 11 a.m. in St.

Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.

Interment at Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery in Exeter will be private.
