Shirley Joyce Carroll

Pawtucket – Shirley J. (Scott) Carroll, 92, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 21, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Nicholas “Ed” Carroll for thirty-two years. Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late John J. Scott and Mildred L. (Bubier) Tammany. Shirley was a lifelong resident of the city and a faithful communicant of St. Teresa Church, Pawtucket. She worked at the former East Side Checker Club, Pawtucket, for many years and enjoyed socializing there with friends. Shirley retired from the Department of Motor Vehicles, Providence, where she worked as a clerk. Shirley was larger than life and loved being part of her huge circle of friends. She was a staple of the community and was voted the “face of Ireland” in the Pawtucket St. Patrick’s Parade. Her laughter and big hugs will be missed by the lives she has touched over the many years.
