Pawtucket – Sarah E. (Ward) Pendlebury, 96, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2013. She was the beloved wife of the late Major General William B. Pendlebury, U.S. Army (Ret). Born in New Bedford, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth M. (Heatley) Ward. Sarah resided in Pawtucket most of her life before moving to Rumford in 1996 and then to Bristol in 2001. She was an active member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and served as Choir Mother. Sarah was musically talented, she enjoyed dancing and playing the piano, guitar and harmonica. She was an award winning swimmer; avid dancer and a talented seamstress. Sarah had also been an instructor in swimming and line dancing. She was a member of the Women’s Reserve Association and had been involved in Scouting and was a volunteer at the voting polls. Sarah leaves a daughter, Sally Pendlebury Grey of Bristol; a son, Dr. William W.
