Pawtucket – Samuel “Sam” Peterson, 94, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022.
He was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth (Rustigian) Peterson.
A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Charles & Rose (Thomasian) Peterson.
Sam earned his associate degree and was the proprietor of a commercial arts and advertising business for many years.
Sam was a longtime member of the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany in Rumford, where he was actively involved in many of the church ministries and programs.
In addition to his devotion to the church, Sam was a member of the Shriner’s and a 32nd Degree Master Mason of the Jenks Lodge No. 24 F&AM.
He was also a life member of the Seekonk YMCA, and enjoyed playing golf at Segregansett Country Club in Taunton, where he enjoyed a membership for over twenty-seven years.
Above all, Sam was a devoted and loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
He will be lovingly remembered by all whose lives he has touched over the past ninety-four years.
Sam leaves two daughters, Deborah Burns and her husband, Dr.
David Burns, Sr., D.O., of Wakefield, and Lisabeth “Beth” Peterson of East Greenwich, three grandchildren, David Burns, Jr. and his wife, Nicole, Dr.
Kristen Mahoney and her husband, Ryan, and Cassandra Burns, and three great-grandchildren, Lilly and Devin Mahoney, and David “Tripp” Burns, III.
Sam was predeceased by his brothers.
Relatives and friends are welcome to attend VISITATION on Friday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at WILLIAM W.
TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.
A Requiem Eucharist will follow at Noon in the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, 1336 Pawtucket Ave., Rumford.
Interment in the family lot at Swan Point Cemetery in Providence will follow.
