PAWTUCKET - Samuel E. Hanna, 94, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 25th, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Bernice (Nessralla) Hanna for 46 years. A lifetime resident of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, he was the son of the late Louis and Margaret (Arouchon) Hanna. Sam was cared for and respected by all of those he encountered in his life. His ready smile and kind demeanor made him easy to love. He proudly served his country in the Korean War during his early years before becoming a cobbler for most of his adult life, working within Shepard's Department Store until its closing in 1975. From there, Sam transitioned into a position working as a housing inspector for the city of Pawtucket. During his tenure at the city, Sam became intimately involved with the Professional and Technical Workers Union RI Local 94, of which he eventually became President.
