Pawtucket – Ruth E. (Neunes) Stockman, 87, passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2012. She was the beloved wife of the late Karl E. Stockman for 56 years. Born in Thuringia, Germany on February 2, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Paul E. and Minna (Graness) Neunes. Ruth was a World War II US Army Air Force veteran, serving the Strategic Air Command at Bolling Field, D.C. Ruth attended Ohio State University studying Horticulture. An avid gardener, she also loved spending time outdoors, especially camping in New Hampshire with her family and friends. Ruth enjoyed all kinds of folk art handcrafts and was in several craft guilds in southeastern New England. She was a member of the League of Woman Voters, a trustee of the Epworth United Methodist Church, Pawtucket and den mother extraordinaire. Ruth was also involved in the Pawtucket School System Polio Vaccine Program of 1954.
