Warwick – Ruth R. (Hinchcliffe) Phillips, 82, of Warwick and formerly of Pawtucket, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2011. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert D. Phillips. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Frank and Annie (Carter) Hinchcliffe, she resided in Pawtucket before moving to Warwick in August 2009. Ruth was employed by Miller Electric Company, Woonsocket for twenty-seven years before retiring in 1980. She was a member and Past-President of the James A. Ryan AMVETS Post No. 33 Auxiliary; Past Department State President of AMVETS, State of RI; Past-President of LAFRA 132, Fleet Reserve; member of the Major Walter G. Gatchell VFW Post No. 306 Auxiliary and a member of the Fierlit-Korzen American Legion Post No. 79 Auxiliary. She leaves her daughter, Linda L. Ragan and her husband Lewis of Warwick; a sister, Beverly Thomas of Pawtucket and nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Frank Hinchcliffe, Jr. Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home,...
