Russell E. Taskey, Jr.

Pawtucket - We are sad to announce the passing of Russell Edward Taskey, Jr. of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, formerly of Deerfield Beach, Florida and Danvers, Massachusetts.

Russell died at eighty-eight years of age on Saturday, September 3, 2022.

Born on December 11, 1933 to the late Russell, Sr., and Margaret (Drab) Taskey in Cleveland, Ohio, Russell lived a rewarding professional and personal life.

After graduating John Adams High School in Cleveland with honors in 1951, Russell entered the US Air Force Flight Training School and finished first in his class, earning his wings and commission.

During his time in the Air Force, he flew transport planes across the US, Europe and Asia during the Korean War and was honorably discharged due to a serious injury.

Russell then went on to graduate with honors from Miami University in Oxford Ohio in 1962.

After working for General Motors in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and the Greater Boston area, Russell spent the remainder of his career in Human Resources at The Analytic Science Corporation (TASC) in Reading, MA, retiring from there in 1995.

He was also a founding member of New England Human Resources Association (NEHRA).

Russell was active in the Catholic church and a proud member of the Ancient & Honorable Artillery Company of Massachusetts.

An avid sportsman, Russell played golf, basketball and softball most of his life, including playing in the Cape Cod Senior Softball league until he was eighty-two years old, ultimately retiring from softball due to a sports injury.

In 2021, Russell was proud to be selected to travel to Washington DC with fellow veterans as part of the Rhode Island Fire Chiefs Honor Flight, touring several war monuments and veteran memorials.

Russell is survived by his longtime life partner and loving companion, Patricia Nazarian of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, his five children, Terri Turner (Alan Archibald) of Hamilton, Massachusetts, Todd (Sharon) Taskey of Bethesda, Maryland, Tonya Taskey Nye (Gregg Hanscom) of Marblehead, Massachusetts, Tedd (Tiffany) Taskey of Erie, Colorado and Tricia (Mark) Modifica of Berlin, Connecticut and grandchildren Abigail, Alyssa and Ashley Nye, Mackenzie and Samantha Taskey, James and Zachary Turner, Mia and Kira Taskey, Marissa and Matteo Modifica and his sister, Margaret Taskey Bonar of The Villages, Florida, formerly of Aurora, Ohio, and several nieces.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2022 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. in St.

Basil the Great Church, 15 Skyview Drive, Lincoln, Rhode Island, followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 2:00 p.m.

A private interment with Military Honors will be held in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.

Floral tributes are respectfully omitted.
