North Providence – Rose V. (Markarian) Ovoian, 92, formerly of South Attleboro, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2016.
She was the beloved wife of Philip Ovoian for 69 years.
Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Harotune and Antaram (Berberian) Markarian.
Rose was a graduate of Pawtucket High School East and attended the former Hubbard Business School in Pawtucket.
For excellence in high school academics, she was inducted into the Rhode Island Honor Society.
She worked as an executive assistant at both Brown and Bryant Universities for many years.
Rose was a member of the Ladies Guild at Sts.
Vartanantz Church in Providence.
She enjoyed to play cards, watch Wheel-of-Fortune and loved to cook.
Above all, she was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Besides her loving husband, Rose leaves a daughter, Marjorie L.
Sluter and her husband, David of Rumford; a son, Robert S.
Ovoian and his wife, Valerie Welch of North Attleboro; five grandchildren, Steven Sluter and his wife, Pamela, Ethan Sluter and his wife, Tabitha, Matthew Sluter and his wife, Kimberly, Daniel Ovoian and Katherine Ovoian; nine great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Bethany, Aram, Luke, Gabriella, Gloria, Angelo, Jack and Charles; a sister, Lucy Kroian and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Alice Markarian and Markar Markarian.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. from WILLIAM W.
TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by Services at 11 a.m. in Sts.
Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church, 402 Broadway, Providence.
Interment will follow at Swan Point Cemetery.
VISITATION will be Tuesday 4 to 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to Sts.
Vartanantz Church will be appreciated.
