Pawtucket – Rose A. (Rafferty) Bonaventure, 95, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 20, 2021. She was the beloved wife of John B. Bonaventure for seventy-two loving years. Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, she was a daughter of the late John and Margaret (Buttimer) Rafferty. In 1948, on a visit to relatives in Pawtucket, Rose met her future husband. She was a longtime parishioner of the former Church of St. Leo the Great, now St. John Paul II Parish. Rose was a member of the Daughter’s of Isabella for over twenty-five years and was involved in many of the parish’s committees and ministries. She enjoyed traveling, especially to her homeland of Northern Ireland, where she would visit with her family and dear friends. Rose was proud of her Irish Heritage, and loved to sing and dance, especially Irish music and Irish Step Dancing.
