Ronald J. Champagne

East Providence – Ronald J. Champagne, 82, of Rumford, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Janet R. (Viens) Champagne for fifty-nine years. Born in Pawtucket, the son of the late Rene and Constance (Bisnaire) Champagne, he resided in Attleboro before moving to Rumford in 1970. Ron was a Korean War U.S. Army veteran. He was a material planner at Texas Instruments, Attleboro, for many years until retiring, and he enjoyed square dancing, bowling, fishing and camping. Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Denise L. Costa and her husband, Thomas, of Rumford; a son, Roger A. Champagne and his wife, Lynne, of Florida; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. His funeral will be held Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Margaret Church, 1098 Pawtucket Ave., Rumford. Interment with Military Honors at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery will be private....
