Pawtucket – Roland G.
Poirier, 97, passed away at home on Sunday, December 27, 2020.
He was the beloved husband of the late Lena M. (Vecoli) Poirier.
Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Theodore and Yvonne (Forcier) Poirier.
A United States Army veteran, Roland proudly served his country overseas during WWII.
He graduated from East High School (Tolman) and was a lifelong Pawtucket resident.
Roland worked as a foreman for the former Horton Angell, Co., Attleboro, MA, until his retirement in 1988.
He was an avid card player and his grandchildren were the light of his life.
He is survived by three children, Kenneth A.
Poirier and his wife, Barbara Kochanowski of Herndon, VA, Nancy A.
Bradford and her husband, James, of Pawtucket, and Douglas R.
Poirier and his wife, Judith, of Seekonk, MA; five grandchildren, Matthew Bradford, William Poirier, Stephen Bradford, Andrew Poirier and Leann Poirier; a great-grandson, Owen Bradford and one brother, George Poirier of Tiverton.
He was the brother of the late Norman Poirier, Raymond (Pete) Poirier, Leo Poirier, Maurice Poirier, Claire Guastello, Rene Poirier, Roger Poirier, and Bertrand (Bert) Poirier.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, interment with Military Honors at Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket, will be private.
Floral tributes and visitation are respectfully omitted.
A memorial service will be planned for a later date.
