Roland "The Mailman" M. Belanger

Pawtucket – Roland “The Mailman” M.

Belanger, 87, passed away Friday, June 7, 2013.

He was the beloved husband of the late Edna C. (Boulais) Belanger.

Born in Central Falls, the son of the late Marcel and Medora (Doucette) Belanger, he resided in Pawtucket since 1949.

Roland was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.

He had been a letter carrier for the Pawtucket Post Office for forty-three years before retiring in 1984, and had also been employed at the former A & P Supermarket.

Roland is a lifetime member and Past-President of LeFoyer; member of the Postal Retirees Branch 55 and a former usher at St.

He leaves five children, Roland F.

Belanger and his wife, Ann of North Dighton, MA, Claire F.

Slack-Rathbun and her husband, Leonard of Attleboro, Suzanne E.

Garceau and her husband, John of Seekonk, Ronald E.

Belanger and his wife, Christine of Pawtucket and Richard E.

Belanger and his wife, Tina of Caratunk, Maine; a sister, Lorraine Bianchi in Florida; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Beatrice Sirois and Pauline Lyons.

His funeral with Military Honors will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W.

TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St.

Cecilia Church, 755 Central Ave., Pawtucket.

Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery.

VISITATION Thursday 4 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to the Muscular Dystrophy Assoc., 931 Jefferson Blvd., # 1005, Warwick, RI 02886, (a charity supported by Roland and his fellow letter carriers) or to the St.

Cecilia School Scholarship Fund, 1253 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, RI 02861 would be appreciated.
