Roland J. Lamarre

Pawtucket – Roland J. Lamarre, 91, passed away Friday, April 29, 2011. He was the beloved husband of Gloria Y. (LaPlante) Lamarre for 60 years. A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Theodore and Theodora E. (Noiseaux) Lamarre. Roland was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, serving four years in the South Pacific. He was a member of the Pawtucket Fire Department for 28 years before retiring as Battalion Chief in 1974. He then became Deputy State Fire Marshall at the State Fire Marshalls Office until 1980. Roland and Gloria enjoyed spending winters in South Pasadena, Florida since 1979. He was a communicant of St. Teresa Church; member of the Pawtucket Fire Department Relief Association; RI State Retirees Council No. 94 and the 43rd Division Veterans Association.
