Roland E. Carroll

Attleboro – Roland E. Carroll, 92, formerly of Pawtucket and Brooksville, FL, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, July 28, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Doris M. (Smith) Carroll for 68 years. Born in West Warwick, he was a son of the late John F. and Amelia (Joyal) Carroll. Roland was a United States Marine Corps veteran of World War II having seen action on the beaches of Iwo Jima where he received combat related injuries earning him a Purple Heart. He will be sadly missed by his family and dear friends, and best remembered for his great sense of humor and his warm smile. Besides his loving wife, he leaves three daughters, Sharlene F. Roy and her husband, Armand E. of Attleboro, Donna M. Denelle and her husband, Robert E. of South Attleboro and Debra L. Ruthowski and her husband, James S. of Pawtucket; six grandchildren, Eric J.
