North Attleboro – Roger J. Petit, 100, passed away on Friday, January 28, 2022. He was the beloved husband of the late Irene R. (LaBree) Petit, who passed in 1980. Born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, he was one of nine children of the late Damase E. and Cordelia (Ricard) Petit. Roger was a United States Army veteran of World War II. He served in the European Theater and participated in the D-Day invasion on the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944. Roger also participated in battles in Northern France and Germany. He went on to a career as a tool setter and worked at Larson Tool & Stamping in Attleboro, having retired in 1979. Roger was a jack of all trades. He particularly enjoyed carpentry and working on automobiles. Roger was always ready to lend a helping hand to his neighbors, friends, and family alike. He will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends as a true gentleman and a humble member of the “Greatest Generation”.
