Proia, Jr., 81, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 10, 2025.
He was the beloved husband of Alma “Happy” (Ireland) Proia for nearly fifty-seven years.
Born in Attleboro, he was the son of the late Rocco, Sr. and Linda (Lanifa) Proia.
Rocco proudly served his country as a veteran of the U.S.
Army Reserve and the U.S.
He graduated in 1962 from Attleboro High School and continued his education at Bryant College where he studied Accounting.
Rocco worked in the banking industry for many years at the former Attleboro Trust Company where he was a branch manager, and later worked as an accountant at LAMBCO, Attleboro, and a cost accountant at Eagle, Franklin, MA.
Rocco was an avid coin collector and regarded as a numismatic connoisseur.
He was a loyal sports fan and especially loved following the New York Yankees.
Rocco will be remembered for his great sense of humor and love for life.
Besides his devoted wife, he is survived by the children he helped raise, Deborah Kanosh and the late Jody Todd; the grandchildren he regarded as his own, Bailey and Ethan Kanosh; his beloved rescue dog Ziggy and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
He was the brother of the late Bernard and Joseph Proia.
Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Attleboro, will be private.
Visitation and floral tributes are respectfully omitted.
