Robert L. Pope

Seekonk – Robert L. Pope, 83, passed away Monday, November 7, 2011. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy M. (Weaton) Pope, they celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on September 18, 2011. Born in Seekonk, he was the son of the late Robert and Mary (Barlow) Pope, and the father of the late Sandra D. Marcotte. Bob was a heavy equipment operator for the Westcott Construction Corporation, North Attleboro, for over forty-six years before retiring in 1989. He was a fifty-five year member of the Operating Engineers Local No. 4, Boston and a former member of Elks Lodge # 1014, Attleboro. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, R. Scott Pope and his wife, Tammy, and his son-in-law, Edward Marcotte all of Seekonk; four grandchildren; Jana Borgen and her husband, Michael of Wilmington, MA, Brett Marcotte and his wife, Sarah, Emily and Benjamin Pope all of Seekonk; three great-grandsons, Oliver and Wesley Marcotte of Seekonk and Henry Borgen of Wilmington, MA and several nieces and nephews.
