Pawtucket – Robert H.
Miniati, 82, passed away at home on Friday, July 21, 2023.
He was the beloved husband of Emma E. (Vecoli) Miniati for fifty-seven years.
Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Henry and Margaret (Brown) Miniati.
Bob served active duty in the United States Navy from September 19, 1957 to May 27, 1977, retiring as Chief Hull Technician.
After Boot Camp in the Great Lakes, he was assigned to the Security Department at the Newport Naval Station, Newport, RI.
He then served seven and a half years on the USS WASP CVS-18 in the Repair Division; NETC Bainbridge, MD, in the Public Works Department; Staff Member with DESRON 20 working with eight destroyers as the Navy Career Counselor Coordinator.
He was Chief in charge of “R” Division on the USS McCloy.
Bob then became Fire Chief with Operation Deep Freeze in Antarctica for three years.
After Antarctica, he was the Head Instructor for the Wet Trainer teaching Damage Control at the Newport Naval Station, Newport, RI, where he was also in charge of Hull Repair for the YP’s there.
Upon retiring from the United States Navy, Bob started Miniati’s Home Improvement & Custom Homes.
In May of 1998 he retired from Miniati Construction Management.
He was a life member of the Italian Dramatic Independent Political Club, USS WASP Association and Disabled American Veterans.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by three sons, Michael J.
Miniati and his wife, Rhonda, of Attleboro, Robert H.
Miniati, II and his wife, Rebecca, and Kevin L.
Miniati and his companion, Donna Silva, all of Pawtucket; three grandchildren, Dylan, Koral and Kyle Miniati, and many nieces and nephews.
He was the grandfather of the late Nicholas J.
Miniati and the brother of the late Paula Ann Miniati, Dorothy M.
Barlow and Maureen A.
His funeral with Military Honors will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W.
TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St.
Teresa of the Child Jesus Church, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.
Interment will follow at Mount Saint Mary Cemetery.
VISITATION will be Tuesday, July 25, 2023 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.
