Robert H. Miniati

Pawtucket – Robert H. Miniati, 82, passed away at home on Friday, July 21, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Emma E. (Vecoli) Miniati for fifty-seven years. Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Henry and Margaret (Brown) Miniati. Bob served active duty in the United States Navy from September 19, 1957 to May 27, 1977, retiring as Chief Hull Technician. After Boot Camp in the Great Lakes, he was assigned to the Security Department at the Newport Naval Station, Newport, RI. He then served seven and a half years on the USS WASP CVS-18 in the Repair Division; NETC Bainbridge, MD, in the Public Works Department; Staff Member with DESRON 20 working with eight destroyers as the Navy Career Counselor Coordinator. He was Chief in charge of “R” Division on the USS McCloy. Bob then became Fire Chief with Operation Deep Freeze in Antarctica for three years.
