Pawtucket – Robert J. Machado, 80, passed away surrounded by the love of his family on Friday, February 27, 2026. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend whose steady presence and strength touched all who knew him.

Robert shared 50 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Shirley A. (Davis) Machado. Together they built a life centered on family, loyalty, and unwavering commitment.

Born in Fall River, MA, he was the son of the late Joseph C. and Amelia (Farias) Machado. Robert grew up as the only son among seven sisters, a role he carried with pride and devotion throughout his life.

For over 40 years, Robert worked in the Service Department at Hurd Auto Mall, where he was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and the friendships he built over decades of service.

Above all else, Robert was a proud father to his three sons, Robert Machado (Melissa) of Cumberland, Alfred LeBeau (Carla) of North Providence, and David LeBeau (Cheryl) of Coventry. He was a loving grandfather to his seven grandchildren, Joshua LeBeau, Brittany Chamberlain (David), Jaidyn DeJesus, Tyler Machado, Cody Machado, Dylan LeBeau, and Joseph Machado (Starr), a cherished great-grandfather to five great-grandchildren, and a beloved uncle to several nieces and nephews. Robert is also survived by his sisters, all of Fall River, MA, Susan Dootson (late Donald), Rosemary Machado, and Claudette Cooper (Thomas).

He was predeceased by his sisters, Madeline Byrne (James) of North Carolina, Bernadette Botelho (Stanley) of Fall River, MA, Beverly McCarthy of Fall River, and Theresa Binette (Paul) of Westport, MA.

In his free time, Robert found peace on the water with a fishing pole in hand and joy in his workshop crafting woodworking projects. Whether fishing or building with his hands, he poured patience, care, and pride into everything he did.

Robert will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his gentle humor, his steady guidance, and the legacy of love he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
