Pawtucket – SFC E-7, Robert K. Howe, US Army (Ret.), 93, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 9, 2021. He was the beloved husband of the late Therese I. (McPhee) Howe. Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Frederick D. and Sarah Ann (Woods) Howe.
Bob was a lifelong resident of Pawtucket and a communicant of St. Teresa Church. He was a career soldier and served in the US Army Air Corps during World War II. He also served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Bob retired from the US Army as a Sergeant First Class E-7 in 1968. He went on to work for RI Hospital Trust National Bank for twenty-three years, retiring in 1991.
Bob established the Memorial Hospital Therese I. Howe Scholarship Fund in 1998. He was a life member of the DAV and a founding sponsor of the American Legion, WWII Memorial, and the National Museum of the US Army.
