Pawtucket – Robert R.
Gilkenson, 91, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2012.
He was the beloved husband of Rita (Rousseau) Gilkenson for sixty-five years.
Born in Wareham, Massachusetts, a son of the late Robert and Myrtle (Rogers) Gilkenson, he resided in Pawtucket for sixty-five years.
Bob was a World War II U.
Army Air Corps veteran and a member of the American Legion Post No. 33, Lincoln.
He was employed by the United States Postal Service at the Montgomery St., Pawtucket branch for over twenty years until retiring in 1986.
Bob was an avid walker and a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Robert K.
Gilkenson and his wife, Susan of North Providence and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late William Gilkenson and Marjorie Douglas.
VISITATION will begin Saturday at 10 A.M. followed by Services with Military Honors at 11:30 A.M. at the WILLIAM W.
TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.
Relatives and friends are invited.
Interment will be at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
