Robert D. Durand, Sr.

Pawtucket – Robert D.

Durand, Sr., 76, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Thursday, March 7, 2024.

He was the beloved husband of Jane F. (Howe) Durand for 55 years.

A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, he was a son of the late William J.

Durand, Sr. and Beatrice C. (LaPalme) Durand.

Bob was a United States Army veteran from the Vietnam era and went on to a successful career as a plumber and electrician.

Later in life he became the sole proprietor of Custom Heating & Crown Electric.

Additionally, he was the co-owner of the former Bobby’s Banquet Hall in Pawtucket.

Bob loved music, and spending time with family & friends – especially during the Christmas and holiday seasons.

He enjoyed taking trips to visit his two sons in North and South Carolina.

He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

Bob will be lovingly remembered by all whose lives he has touched over the past seventy-six years.

Besides his loving wife, he leaves two sons, Robert D.

Durand, Jr. and his husband, Raymond L.

Riley of Salisbury, NC, and Glenn D.

Mill, SC; a daughter, Crystal G.

Oliveira of Pawtucket; beloved nephew and niece, Victor E.

Van Thuyne and his wife, Donna, of North Providence and Laurie Ann Ferland and her husband, Robert, Sr., of Foster; two grandchildren, Ruben M.

Oliveira, Jr. and Ariana M.

Oliveira and many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Claire Durand, Irene Martino, William J.

Durand, Jr., Loretta Van Thuyne and Shirley Henshaw.

VISITATION will be held on Tuesday, March 12th beginning at 11 a.m. at WILLIAM W.

TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by SERVICES at 1 p.m. in the funeral home.

Interment with Military Honors will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery.
