Cumberland – Robert “Roy” B. Butterworth, 89, a retired Chemist in the Jewelry Industry, passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Barbara Ann (Holden) Butterworth. The couple had been married for sixty-two years. Born in South Attleboro, Massachusetts, a son of the late Robert and Ellen (Chadwick) Butterworth, he resided in Pawtucket and Seekonk before moving to Cumberland in 1958. Roy was a Korean War U.S. Marines Corps veteran, and a fifty year member of the Lafayette Lodge No. 47 F. & A.M., Cumberland. He enjoyed boating, classic cars, classic car shows, and had been a Commodore of the Cove Haven Yacht Club, Barrington. Besides his beloved wife, he leaves several nieces and nephews. Services followed by interment with Military Honors at Newell Burying Ground, South Attleboro, Massachusetts will be private. Visitation and flowers are respectfully omitted.
